Slipping a hand between their bodies, Fox took himself in hand.

"Greg," he panted. "I- I'm..."

He was so close, painfully close, and though he was trying to hold back, he couldn't any longer. Fox came with a sharp cry, pulling House down for a kiss.

As much as House wanted this to last forever, he too was having trouble holding himself back. And that was certainly all it took.

He smiled at him.

"Can I stay tonight? Will you let me stay again?"

"Of course." House very carefully pulled out o him, and settled beside him not he bed, pulling Fox into his arms, against his chest. "I'm sorry, that I told you I didn't want you in my bed anymore. It's just... it was so hard, when I wanted so badly to touch you."

"Does that mean I'll be banished again in time?" Fox asked quietly.

House felt something tighten in his chest. "Please," he said in Fox's tongue. "Aren't we good together?"

Fox was silent a moment, then nodded.

"I'm afraid though. John has warned me already, that you wouldn't be happy if you understood the things I will start to crave in time."

He wasn't trying to be vague, it was just embarrassing. Wetting his lips, he pressed a little closer.

"You don't strike me as a man keen to inflict pain. You're a healer. A good man, a good soul. I wouldn't expect you to want that, nor would I want to ask it of you. I like this. I like how we are right now.

House trailed his fingers down Fox's arm. "Don't you think you should let me decide what will make me happy? And what I'm willing to do?"

Fox slipped an arm around him, then sighed.

"I suppose," he agreed quietly, though it was clear Fox was uncomfortable with the idea of it coming up at all. As though he was afraid of spoiling something.

House pulled away just enough that he could look at him. "Fox, I'm not sure if you understand what a big deal this is for me. I haven't felt this way about.... anyone, in a very long time. I want to fight for it."

Fox hadn't either. Maybe ever, if he was honest. He'd never truly connected with someone, not like this.

He remained silent a moment, one hand finding Greg's and holding on.

"I will linger then. We can linger."

House squeezed his hand. "I don't want to push you," he said. "Only if you feel the same way. But if you do... I'd prefer to face the rest of it together, rather than you deciding for me."

"I understand," Fox said, hesitating before adding, "And I do. I... I feel the same, I think. I feel... I am attached to you. I care for you. I feel best when we are together."

House relaxed a little. Though he did say after a moment, "And even... when my leg is gone again?"

"Yes," Fox said, curling up closer again. "My heart is with your heart."

"Okay," House murmured, still stroking his arm. "Though just be warned the sex won't be as good..."

"Is that fact, or what you have imagined to be true?" Fox asked. "If there are times you feel you want to be-"

Fox paused, clearly struggling to translate something.

"If you want this, I will give it to you," he said, squeezing Greg's leg. "I can do that. Maybe not always, but sometimes."

"I mean, I just... it limits what I can do," House said softly.

He reached down and placed his hand over Fox's, feeling the skin of the leg. "I won't lie, this is amazing," he said quietly. "To be able to move as I like, and without pain... but I also don't want it to cost you. I have lived a long time with one leg. I can cope."

Fox nodded a bit in understanding.

"Maybe one day we will make a deal," he offered, even though he knew that probably wasn't a good idea.

"In the short term..." House's trailing fingers moved to his chest. "Perhaps we could... have another go, at some point before the magic wears off?"

Fox smiled at that, starting to purr again. "I would like that."

House nuzzled against his neck. "Though, I'd like to know... when I bit you, should I not do that?" He'd had trouble interpreting Fox's reaction.
